Rosberg blames Hamilton for his lack of talent

April 2015

Nico Rosberg has hit out at Lewis Hamilton after the Chinese Grand Prix for his own lack of talent. After yet another weekend where he finished second behind the young Brit, Rosberg criticised his team mate for deliberately being better than he is in order to make him look stupid. Because he never managed to get within a couple of seconds of Lewis, Rosberg believes he should have been let through because overtaking is not allowed in Formula 1. The German verbally attacked his team mate in a post-race interview.

“It’s completely unfair and unreasonable what he was doing. He was deliberately driving in front of me and going fast so I couldn't get past him. If I wasn't driving a Mercedes I might have been overtaken by Vettel in the Ferrari and that would have cost the team points and meant I would have been even further behind Lewis in the championship. He’s such a selfish person and never lets me win. Anyone would think this was a competition the way he’s always trying to beat me.”

Lewis Hamilton refused to comment on his team mate’s statement but was overheard chanting “two world wars, one world cup and two race wins” outside Rosberg's motorhome after the race, before saying the team did a fantastic job.
