The irony of words

A review of The Only Witness

Only a few days ago I reviewed the previous book in the series and praised Jude Watson for her ability to have kept the series alive without it going stale. Now we come to “The Only Witness” and I think I have to take it back.

It was almost like Jude Watson couldn’t be bothered with this one. The plot itself was very thin and the scenes jumped around all over the place without much depth to them. I also personally thought it wasn’t written very well. It felt more like the sort of thing a school kid would have written for their homework.

I will reserve judgement until I’ve read the last book in the series but my personal opinion is that the series should have ended at the previous book. Still, I can’t help but like Jude Watson and, as long as you don’t take things too seriously, it is quite a fun and quirky little read.
