A review of Uprising
I don’t quite know how to describe this book. Although it was a mildly entertaining read, I felt it was a very weak end to what started out as a very good series.It was one of those books that I found myself not being able to pay much attention to when I was reading and, before I knew it, I had come to the end without having registered much throughout the book. This made it very good bed time reading but doesn’t say much about the writing. It certainly wasn’t captivating enough for me.
The inevitable deaths of a couple of long-standing characters lacked any real emotion and I felt more effort could have been put into that aspect.
Nevertheless, aside from a few weak points, the series as a whole was fairly enjoyable and it was a good place in the timeline to include a young reader’s series.
