Eddie to race again in Open Endurance

Eddie will make another appearance in a round of the Open Endurance Championship at Buckmore Park in August, this time driving with Jordan Hill for Ministry of Speed. Eddie raced for his old endurance team, IMSD Racing, last month at the Clay Pigeon circuit and impressed by qualifying second, leading for much of the early stage and setting fastest lap of the race.

This will be the second time Eddie has teamed up with Jordan. The two dominated the Inters Endurance race at Bayford Meadows last year before their kart broke down.

Eddie, who was at Silverstone for the Formula 1 testing yesterday when the deal was finalised, was understandably delighted to be racing with Jordan again.

”I’m really happy to say I’ll be teaming up with Jordan to race for Ministry of Speed. I think we have a good chance of coming away with a good result and we should be challenging for the win. Jordan is an awesome driver as well as being a good friend of mine. Ministry of Speed have done a fantastic job this year in the Clubman championship, winning 2 races so far, winning the O plate event and finishing second and third in the last two Premier races. That is pretty impressive for a new team and I hope we can add another pot to the collection at Buckmore.”

Eddie also revealed that he missed a chance to race with Jordan at Clay Pigeon in May.

“Jordan did ask if I was available to race [at Clay] but I had already arranged to race with IMSD so we missed that opportunity. If you look at our respective performances there, we would have been challenging for the win so I see no reason why we can’t be at least as competitive at Buckmore. Bring it on!”

Eddie will be in action this weekend for round 4 of the Premier Endurance Championship, and again on Sunday to defend his lead in the Sprint Championship.
