Synopsis

Eight years have passed since the destruction of Outbound Flight and since Thrawn was banished from the Chiss Ascendancy.

Now there is a new Order. Palpatine has declared himself Emperor and there are many resistance groups trying desparately to oppose him. Running from the Empire, smuggler Booster Terrik - who holds information on the whereabouts of some of these resistance groups - has to make a last minute landing on a small planet in the Unknown Regions. Chasing hiom down, the small Imperial force make a discovery that will change the future of the Galaxy...

I really liked this short story. It basically fills in a tiny bit of the story between Outbound Flight and Heir to the Empire and explains what happened to Thrawn after the destruction of Outbound Flight.

Although the story was very predictable, it was still very gripping. It was good to see cameo's for Booster Terrick and Captain Parck as well.
