Jedi Apprentice |
| I have to admit to being very aprehensive about buying this book. Knowing that it came out before even Empire Strikes Back was released, there were obviously going to be inconsistencies. I mean this was written before we knew that Vader was Lukes father, before we knew that Luke and Leia were brother and sister, before we knew that Yoda existed, basically before we knew anything! As a result there is a lot in this book that no longer makes any sense. Nevertherless, I was surprised how good a read it was. It is certainly a path that Star Wars COULD have taken if the sequels hadn't come out. I thought that Alan Dean Foster made both Luke and Leia a bit too childish and immature in this book. Leia in particular came off sounding like a whinging little girl through some of it, but all in all I enjoyed it. |
