Synopsis
It is a time of crisis. Han Solo, frozen in carbonite, is being taken to the vile gangster Jabba the Hutt. As Princess Leia mounts a rescue mission and Darth Vader scours the galaxy for Luke Skywalker, another sinister figure emerges. His name is Xizor. Cunning and ruthless, leader of the powerful Black Sun criminal organisation, he will pit himself against Vader for the favour of their mutual master...the dreaded Emperor.
Luke, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian face betrayal and death at every turn and must use every weapon and resource at their disposal to confront the combined forces of Black Sun and the Empire. And, of course, Vader still lives - and faces a battle of his own - against a villian every bit as evil and powerful as the Dark Lord of the Sith himself.

Could have been a film! - 01-Aug-07
I was very much mistaken! This is a great book. It is one of the few I found very difficult to put down. Steve Perry does a good job of getting the personalities of the charaters right, particularly Luke, who we see growing into the confident Jedi we see in Return of the Jedi but still having flashes of the immature and whiney kid in Episode 4.
Prince Xizor is a brilliant villian and really fit well into the Star Wars universe. His smooth, almost gentleman-like, personality along with his generally evil character made him a good read.
When I was reading this book I could almost visualise it as a film. It is even written almost like a film with the short scenes. A definite 5 stars for me and I would recommend it to anyone!
