Eddie has admitted that his ambition for 2007 is to race in the Le Mans 24 Hour kart race. There was talk that this might be on the cards this year but instead Eddie competed again at the Spa 10 hour, scoring a second consecutive class victory with IMSD Racing.
However, Eddie has said that if he had to choose between the two, Le Mans would be his choice for 2007.
“Of course if possible I would want to do both. Spa is great; it’s a fantastic weekend, a great circuit and an unbelievable experience. The issue for me is that I’ve been there three times now and won class victories twice. Next year we will be competing in the Prems no matter what, so the chances of even getting on the podium are very small. Personally I would like a new challenge and a new experience.”
Eddie has already been approached by Stuart Belbin from the BPKDC championship about competing next year and admits to also having spoken to his IMSD team-mates about it.
“Stuart spoke to me after his third place finish at the PPK Daytona 8 Hour (which Eddie was not allowed to compete in by the organisers for being too professional), and he said that he is looking to enter next year and would I be interested. Of course I said yes!”
