Eddie is hoping he can end the season on a high note this weekend at Rye House by scoring a solid result for IMSD Racing in their last race together in the Premier Endurance Championship.

It has been a disastrous year for the former Inters champions as they have struggled to get out of the mid-field all season – an 8th place finish at Shenington their best result.

Eddie has said that he hopes the team can end on a high note as they deserve.

“It would be great to end the season with a good result. I don’t think that we are going to go out in a blaze of glory or anything like that but it would just be nice to end with a solid result.

“Our results this year haven’t been great and we’re obviously not going to win but it would be good if we can have an enjoyable, problem free race with no reliability issues or mistakes.”

Eddie also admitted that he felt a bit sad that the team can’t bow out on a higher note.

”Obviously the chances of us winning or even getting on the podium are almost non existent and our performance so far this year certainly hasn’t been anything to write home about. I think it’s really sad because the team have such a good pedigree. In our 5 year history, we have won two championships, two 10 hour wins at Spa and have several other wins and podiums to our name and have been promoted up the ranks every year. It’s a real shame that we have ended on such a low note not even being able to crack the top 10 in the championship.”

Despite this, Eddie says he has no regrets about 2007 but will be glad to see the back of it.

”Of course we deserve our place in the Prems and we have to take heart from the fact that we are here on merit. Considering that our old 2005 championship rivals are still in Clubman and look set to stay there next year, this shows just how good we are. I will just be glad when this race is over so I can concentrate on next year.”

Eddie also admitted that an announcement about where he will be next year could be made within the next couple of weeks.

”I’m hoping to get something more concrete sorted this weekend and we might have something to talk about before Christmas. Until then my lips are sealed!”
