Eddie will race in a round of the Open Endurance Championship in May. He will join former IMSD Racing team-mates and current Sprint rivals Stephen and Seth Deuchar in a one-off appearance at round 3 of the championship at Clay Pigeon on May 31st.
“I’m looking forward to having a crack in one of these events. I’ve been quite keen to have a go in one of these races for a while now and me and Stephen talked about it a few times last year and over the winter.”
This news comes while the dust is still settling over the cancelled Spa fiasco.
“Funnily enough, I was in the middle of sorting out the cancellation of things for Spa when I got a message from Steve asking if I wanted to join him and Seth at Clay. I accepted straight away.”
Eddie hinted at the possibility of a few more invites this year, but admitted that he is going to have to pick and choose.
“I’ve had a few other offers to do various races again this year and I am quite tempted by a couple of them. I have to be careful because, although two of the Euro races have been cancelled, I’m still doing nearly 30 races this year and I don’t want to burn myself out. Plus I’ve got a rib injury to think about.”
