Eddie will make his first appearance of the year in the Open championship this weekend. His first race back as reigning champion.

After a relatively successful start to the year in the Lightweight sprint and Premier endurance championships, Eddie is looking forward to his first outing in the Open series and is confident of a good result.

“The plan is to win. It’s a completely different line-up this weekend with me, Rich Higham and Sami Seppala but we’re all Premier endurance drivers and all quick so we should be able to do the job. I'm looking forward to racing with the number one on the kart. It will be good being there knowing I'm the reigning champion and it will give me a bigger confidence boost.”

After a difficult first race for the team where Glen Beard, Jordan Hill and Harry Landy suffered numerous problems and could manage no better than 11th, Eddie is confident of turning things around this weekend.

“The guys had a lot of problems at Buckmore but hopefully we will have a better day on Sunday. Providing we stay out of trouble and drive sensibly we should get a good result. I promised the guys I wouldn’t let them down and I plan on sticking to my word.”
