His Facebook status update said it all: "2nd on the grid, 2nd in the race, 2nd fastest lap and 2nd in the championship..." Despite having lost his Open crown to Andrew Johnson, "Mr. Runner-up" enjoyed a successful year, finishing second to Johnson on no less than three occasions this year to take the runner-up spot. Eddie was sporting in defeat.
"Obviously it’s disappointing to lose the championship but Andy has done a fantastic job all year and is a deserving champion. He’s been the class of the field in this championship and the sprints so to have finished so close behind him is quite an achievement. Hopefully I’ll come back stronger next year."
With the season now over, Eddie is expected to officially announce his plans for 2013 this week. The world will be on the edge of their seats...
