Eddie was up in Sheffield over the weekend for his orientation trip prior to going to Japan in December. Here he met up with the other 19 people who will also be attending the trip. The weekend basically consisted of getting to know each other, going through what they will be doing on the trip, and taking a crash course in Japanese.
It was a good weekend as Eddie explained. "Everybody seemed really nice and we all seemed to get on very well. We all got to know each other throughout the day and then we went out in the evening for a few drinks. We went to a couple of clubs, which was a good laugh. Some of us came back (early) at about 3 in the morning, and then I was up at 6 to watch the Grand Prix.
"I am really looking forward to going. There will be a lot to learn and we are going to be kept very busy but I think it's going to be a good trip."
The only downside of the whole weekend was on the trip back. "I had a terrible journey back, getting stuck in two traffic jams. It only took me three and a half hours to get up to shefffield and over six hours to get back - I was not a very happy bunny when I got home!"
