It was back down to earth with a bump for Eddie at Bayford Meadows. After securing his first A final finish three weeks ago at Lydd, Eddie only managed a poor seventeenth in the B final after some miserable heats.

The day started off well for Eddie, finishing third in his first heat after storming his way up from grid seven. It all went down hill from there with Eddie spinning down to last whilst in second place in his second heat and then finishing almost last in heat 3 after a deduction for ABC (Advantage By Contact).

This put Eddie in 15th position on the grid for the B final. The final started off in fairly wet and slippery conditions. After losing several places at the start, Eddie put his wet weather skills to the test and started to move up the field. However, when the track started to dry out, Eddie lost his advantage and slipped back to finish a distant 17th.

"It was a pretty awful day on the whole. I was really looking forward to another good result and was fairly confident of another A final finish, especially after the first heat. Frankly I drove like an old tart for the rest of the day and didn't get it together at all. I just have to hope for better luck at Buckmore."
